Sam'antha Griffen
Owner/Operator
I’ve played many roles wearing many hats over the 50+ years I’ve been on this planet, and I’ve earned a living doing a variety of work.
I've been a bartender, a restaurant manager, high school English teacher, banking service rep, and corporate grunt (aka management). I’ve volunteered and taught safe sex courses at university, and worked with dyslexic adults to become better readers. I’ve answered suicide prevention lines, protected women crossing protest lines at Planned Parenthood, and donated my time to local and national organizations fighting against inequality.
I am a daughter, and only child, as well as a sister (1/2), wife and mother - and now, at this stage in my life, I'm fully stepping into my role as a woman of a certain RAGE.
There is no way I’m alone in this chaos, and even though it feels like I'm a lone blue dot in a sea of red, I know that isn't the case.
I have the mouth of a sailor and the sense of humor of a 14 year old boy, but in addition to that, I'm educated and I’m putting in the work to actively participate in the deconstruction of racist systems we are all a part of. I want to be an ally, and I want to be someone who the community knows is committed to positive change.
Is it a bit off the wall that I want to do this with smutty books and liberal swag? Sure it is, but I'm having fun and I really want you to have fun too.
As exhausting as reality can be, and as infuriating as the patriarchy and blatant misogyny is at all times - I still want to get the most out of my existence as I can. There is no way I'm the only feral, grown ass, woman out there looking to be entertained and given the opportunity to learn and become the best version of herself.
Come find me, my swag, and all of these iconic, savage, and compelling books.
Meet Carry Fisher
She’s hard core - a worker at heart.
Carry is rugged and simple, but she is a beast - and down for a challenge.
Carry is a Y2K baby - bred and built in the year of our Lady, 2000. Her sole purpose in life was hauling, climbing, and delivering. She spent 25 years doing what she was made for- carrying load after load up and down the mountainous topography of Japan. This is where the story takes a turn.
I had a wild idea. I made an insane decision. And then I needed the vehicle in which to make it work. I needed a truck, a bus, a something…. By some stroke of insanity I discovered: the kei truck… this mini truck I'm now obsessed with.
It took research.
It took haggling.
It took convincing.
It took my money - and by the grace of all that is holy, it only took five weeks for her to get to the shores of the Americas. And after a cross country drive, she arrived in Surprise, Arizona - ready for a new adventure with me.
This is CARRY F1SHR - now that she is here with me, there is a royal WE. We are My Bestie’s Book Truck - hey bestie.
Carry is a work in progress - this is her beginning.
